“At Alicorp we are guided by our purpose of Feeding a better tomorrow, which guides our entire organization in a direction that leads us to inspire and accompany the growth and development of our stakeholders,” said José Samamé, Supply Chain Manager, at moment of receiving the award.

The Maya Awards have a history of more than 28 years and recognize the most representative of Bolivia in terms of companies, political personalities, athletes, artists and communicators, allowing people to participate through surveys and opinion polls. This recognition is given thanks to its actions and sustainability strategies that Alicorp has been carrying out in environmental issues, the well-being of the population and the development of its value chain.

The selection process includes the evaluation of information from public opinion surveys and the results are evaluated by a selection committee made up of representatives of federations and business and commerce chambers recognized in Bolivia.

Alicorp's sustainability strategy

Wellbeing, Value Chain and Environmental Care are the three pillars of Alicorp's sustainability strategy, through which it carries out important actions ranging from donating products to the Food Bank, recycling vegetable oil through Greenside Solutions and projects high impact as a “Community of Bakers”, focused on the development of the sector, through training; and “Route Companions” that provides training in safety and good practices to transportation service providers.

Likewise, other initiatives have been developed that impacted the lives of bakers, transporters and merchants nationwide, thanks to specific capacity-building programs, guidance for obtaining credit and mechanisms to boost their sales and the development of their business.

In the field of well-being, in the last four years, Alicorp has donated more than 235 tons of food, personal care and household products to the Bolivian Food Bank, benefiting more than 53 thousand Bolivian families.
