"This new recognition reflects our management commitment with a sustainable, responsible approach and the creation of shared value, generating well-being, developing communities and caring for our environment, in line with our purpose of Feeding a Better Tomorrow and our sustainability strategy." explains Fiorella Debenedetti, Director of International Business Bolivia.

Wellbeing, Value Chain and Environmental Care are the three pillars of Alicorp's sustainability strategy, and from which it carries out important actions that range from donating products to the Food Bank, recycling vegetable oil through Greenside Solutions and high-impact projects such as “Community of Bakers”, focused on the development of the sector, through training; and “Route Companions” that provides training in safety and good practices to transportation service providers.

Likewise, other initiatives have been developed that impacted the lives of bakers, transporters and merchants nationwide, thanks to specific capacity-building programs, guidance for obtaining credit and mechanisms to boost their sales and the development of their business.

In the field of well-being, in the last four years, Alicorp has donated more than 235 tons of food, personal care and household products to the Bolivian Food Bank, benefiting more than 53 thousand Bolivian families. Brands such as UNO, Opal, Bolívar and Sapolio led these deliveries to people from vulnerable sectors of the country.

Transversal sustainability

“At Alicorp we carry sustainability in our DNA: it is transversal to the entire company, it is the way of doing business and achieving our objectives. This award encourages us to continue developing our sustainability strategy under ESG (environmental, social and corporate governance) criteria with programs and actions that have positive impacts,” added Debenedetti.

The executive also highlights that the company “always seeks to generate value and well-being in the communities where it operates.” To this end, Alicorp actively and permanently listens to its stakeholders, whom it hopes to know their expectations and serve them through its business, generating economic, social and environmental value.

Along these lines, the sustainability strategy puts people at the center of Alicorp's decisions: collaborators, clients, suppliers and investors, for whom there is as much value in the results as in the way of achieving them.
