For the third consecutive year, we received recognition for CSR granted by the Delegation of the European Union in Bolivia, the World Bank, COSAS magazine and Bago.
The recognition was granted to Alicorp, together with other leading companies, for the sustainability actions that we developed in the 2022 management, framed in three fundamental axes: community development, environment and well-being.
Feeding a Better Tomorrow is the goal we follow and the reason that leads us to develop initiatives that promote the well-being of the communities where we operate. Guided by ESG criteria, we work cross-cutting, promoting actions that are sustainable and allow business continuity with a positive impact, understanding the challenges of the environment and of our stakeholders," said Cynthia Valencia Canedo, Executive Manager of Corporate Affairs in Bolivia, in time to receive the distinction.
In Bolivia, Alicorp is a prominent player in the agro-industrial sector and has a growing leadership in mass consumption. To provide greater value to the production chain and have a positive impact on the communities where we operate, during the 2022 term we deployed various sustainability actions, focused on knowledge transfer and innovation with a focus on our main stakeholders.
Conferences for farmers
We periodically organize free virtual conferences for farmers, led by high-level national and international experts, who touched on topics of interest and value to these company allies.
Grain producers are our strategic partners and we seek to accompany their growth with these trainings, contributing with specialized knowledge to optimize the management of their crops throughout the production cycle. In 2022, more than 1,000 farmers participated.
productivity contest
Thirty farmers took on the challenge of participating in the Third Productivity Contest organized by Alicorp during the 22/23 summer campaign, putting their technical knowledge and skills into practice. With the inputs that we provided them and with the advice of our technicians, they managed to produce 4.9 tons of soybeans per hectare, a result comparable to the yields of neighboring countries.
The prize for the winners was a trip to Argentina, where they were able to learn about the new agricultural technologies of the neighboring country and how to apply them in their fields.
Workshops for bakers
More than 160 master bakers from the cities of El Alto and La Paz, who make battle bread daily, participated in the 8 training sessions that we developed in 2022, led by bakery experts.
The beneficiaries had the opportunity to prepare their usual recipes and try new ones with Gordito and Masapan butter, confirming the quality of our products.
Alicorp and Greenside Solutions united for the environment
We reaffirm our alliance with Greenside Solutions, a leading company in the collection of used vegetable oil in Bolivia, with coverage throughout the country.
Thanks to this alliance, a considerable number of restaurants and hotels benefit from a responsible exchange. They deliver used vegetable oil to Greenside Solutions and receive combos of our products in exchange.
Donation of products to vulnerable populations
In the last three years, more than 178,000 kg of our food and personal care products such as oils, noodles, cereals, and toothpastes were donated by Alicorp to the Bolivian Food Bank, thus impacting more than 40,000 people nationwide.
Recently, we also delivered a donation of 41 tons of detergent from its UNO and Opal brands to social institutions, benefiting people from highly vulnerable sectors in the cities of the main axis of Bolivia.
